Storytelling with Adobe Podcast: August Reflections, Content Velocity, and Creativity

August is almost over, and what a whirlwind it has been. This month is always special for me since it’s my birthday month. We celebrated with a trip to Enchanted Kingdom, a feast at Vikings, and, in between, I managed to stay productive as a creative consultant, strategist, and project manager. On top of everything, I also had an Adobe Podcast webinar planned a month in advance. With the days flying by, I finally sat down to polish my slides and flow.

As I worked, I realized this journey is bigger than just learning a tool—it’s about storytelling in today’s world.

Why Storytelling Matters in Audio

Stories have power. They’re not just entertainment; they’re how humans connect and remember.

  • Stories are 22x more memorable than facts
Stanford’s Jennifer Aaker found that we recall stories far more than raw data, thanks to how our brains process narrative.
  • Podcasts are the “intimate medium”
As Richard Berry and The Podcast Studies Reader point out, podcasts often feel like a one-on-one conversation because most listeners tune in through headphones.
  • Stories trigger empathy
Neuroeconomist Paul Zak showed that storytelling increases oxytocin (the “empathy hormone”), making us more likely to trust and connect with the storyteller.

This is why podcasts are so effective—they’re not just about audio, they’re about emotion.

Content Velocity & the Social Media Landscape

We live in an age where content spreads faster than ever, but attention spans are shrinking. That means velocity matters.

  • 500 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every single minute (YouTube Press, Statista 2023).
  • The average social media user spends ~2h 24m daily online (DataReportal 2023).
  • Attention spans are down to ~8 seconds according to a Microsoft study.
  • One podcast can be repurposed into 5–10 content pieces—snippets, audiograms, transcripts, or social clips (HubSpot, Gary Vaynerchuk).

The lesson? If you have one good story, you can multiply its reach across multiple platforms with the right workflow.

My Turning Point

This month has also been about change. I left the company I had been with for nine years last July. That big shift forced me into self-reflection—looking back, rediscovering my voice, and figuring out my next steps.

And that process led me back to something I love: storytelling. Surprisingly, it also led me to finally try Adobe Podcast.

Discovery of Adobe Podcast

I first heard about Adobe Podcast from Sir Rollan and Jean, but I hadn’t tested it until recently. When I finally tried it, I was pleasantly surprised:

  • Simple and intuitive to use
  • Easy integration with my workflow
  • AI tools that make cleanup, transcription, and audiograms effortless

It wasn’t just another tool—it felt like a natural extension of how I tell stories.

My Storytelling Workflow with Adobe Podcast

Here’s how I currently work:

  1. Finalize the Story
Every podcast begins with a solid story. Tools like ChatGPT help me adapt a blog draft into a podcast-friendly script, making content velocity much faster.
  2. Record the Audio
Sometimes I start with something as simple as my phone’s recorder synced to Google Drive. A laptop mic or built-in recorder also works fine.
  3. Clean & Enhance in Adobe Podcast
I upload the raw audio, let Adobe’s Enhance Speech AI work its magic, and then use features like audiograms to add visual flair for sharing on YouTube or social platforms.
  4. Optional Final Touches
For more polished projects, I move into Adobe Premiere—adding background music, auto-ducking, and adjusting visuals to match my taste.

Closing Thoughts

Storytelling is how we connect, and in today’s fast-moving, multi-platform world, tools like Adobe Podcast make it easier to share those stories with clarity and impact.

For me, this journey has been both personal and professional: rediscovering my voice, embracing content velocity, and finding tools that help me create with flow.

So here’s my challenge to you: take one story, record it simply, and try bringing it to life with Adobe Podcast. You might be surprised at how powerful—and easy—it can be.
