Quiet streets. Empty shelves. Sirens echoing in the distance. It was 2020, and the future felt\u2026 uncertain, at best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1561\">Somewhere between doomscrolling and rationing snacks, I found myself thinking about survival. Not in the distant, philosophical way\u2014but in the real, immediate sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1562\">What happens if food runs out?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1563\">And so, with leftover containers, salvaged soil, and more hope than horticultural skill\u2014I planted water spinach. Indoors. On a shelf by the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1564\">It wasn\u2019t Pinterest-pretty. It smelled a little funky. But it <em>grew<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1565\">And with every tiny sprout, something inside me shifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1566\">That little patch of green became my anchor. A quiet reminder that even in chaos, I could create something alive. Something useful. Something that fed me\u2014physically, emotionally, metaphorically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1567\">Growth doesn\u2019t have to be graceful. Sometimes, it just has to be real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1568\">By the time 2023 rolled around and the world started moving again, I knew it was time to let the indoor garden go. Mosquitos had discovered it. The spinach was getting leggy. My studio had turned into a swampy ecosystem that wasn\u2019t quite built for long-term farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1569\">Still, I remember clearing it out slowly\u2014grateful. Because what started as a food experiment had become something deeper: A reminder that I could root myself, even in strange conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1570\">Fast forward to today\u20142025. I\u2019m no longer farming spinach in my condo. I work in a hybrid strategic project management role, nestled inside a creative design ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1571\">And weirdly? It still feels like gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1572\">I meet brands in all kinds of growth phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1573\">Some are blooming but bound\u2014full of potential, stuck in old containers. Some are tired and tangled, unsure of what\u2019s next. Some are ready to plant something entirely new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1574\">I help them figure out where they are. What they\u2019re really trying to grow. And most importantly\u2014what kind of ecosystem they need to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1575\">Sometimes that means a clearer brief. Other times, it\u2019s air. Stillness. A little more space to stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1576\">One of the brands I\u2019ve started working with lately actually sells soil. Real, beautiful, nutrient-rich soil. And I love that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1577\">Even if I haven\u2019t helped them in any big, splashy way just yet, just being in their orbit feels familiar. Their care for the craft, their quiet reverence for the ground we stand on\u2014it brings me back to those early days in my condo, coaxing spinach from sunlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1578\">Because here\u2019s something I\u2019ve learned, again and again:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1579\"><strong>Roots matter.<\/strong> Even if nothing\u2019s showing on the surface yet\u2014there\u2019s always something happening underneath. That\u2019s true for brands. It\u2019s true for creative work. And it\u2019s definitely true for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1580\">I\u2019m still growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1581\">Still learning what to tend, what to prune, what to plant next. Still figuring out where I want to dig deeper\u2014and what I want to bloom into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1582\">But for the first time in a long time, I\u2019m not afraid of starting small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ember1583\">Because I know: Plants don\u2019t rush.
